What this laboratory video demonstrates
Material compliance cannot be confirmed reliably by appearance alone. This video introduces the X-ray fluorescence spectrometer used by EBC for rapid, non-destructive elemental screening of terminals, connectors, metallic parts and selected wire harness materials.
Why this test matters
XRF results support incoming inspection, material identification and restricted-substance screening. The technique is particularly useful for detecting and comparing elements associated with RoHS requirements, alloy composition and plating systems. Because measurement capability depends on the element, material, geometry and calibration, screening results are evaluated against the applicable specification and may be followed by another analytical method when confirmation is required.
