What this laboratory video demonstrates
Outdoor cable assemblies are exposed to sunlight, heat, moisture and repeated drying. These stresses can fade, harden, embrittle or crack polymer materials long before an electrical conductor fails. This laboratory video presents EBC's UV accelerated weathering tester for controlled evaluation of cable jackets, insulation and related non-metallic materials.
Why this test matters
Accelerated exposure helps compare material formulations and identify loss of flexibility, surface cracking, discoloration or reduced mechanical performance. Results are interpreted together with the intended service environment and the applicable customer or material specification; accelerated testing supports engineering decisions but does not simply equal a fixed number of outdoor service years.
